My Stand on the Issues

My priorities are the health, safety, and welfare of Garfield County residents, period!
I agree with USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins when she said, “Our prime farmland should not be wasted and replaced with green new deal subsidized solar panels. It has been disheartening to see our beautiful farmland displaced by solar projects, especially in rural areas that have a strong agricultural heritage.”
I have stood shoulder to shoulder with our neighbors affected by the Skeleton Creek Solar complex just south of Enid to protect our nation's prime farmland.
Your right to petition your government, the Board of County Commissioners, in public meetings was removed almost two years ago! While the board was acting against the wishes of many Garfield County residents, they chose to silence their detractors by eliminating public comment instead of listening to their neighbors, people who were adversely affected by their decisions! This is un-American and disrespectful to the people who elected them as their representatives.
My first act as commissioner will be to add an agenda item that restores your right to speak during meetings. I will force a vote so that you will have a record of which commissioners support the 1st Amendment and which ones don’t.
Oppose new taxes and end wasteful spending!
In these tough economic times, taking more money out of your pockets is not the answer. I opposed the July 14, 2025 tax increase requested by the Chisholm Trail Expo Center facilities, because I believe that the less government takes from you, the better quality of life you can provide for yourself and for your family!
The government must learn to live within its means, just like our families live within our budgets.
I will stop the bleeding of taxpayer money by the county commissioners and work to develop better business practices.
I will take advantage of the bidding process for all purchases in District 3 to ensure that our citizens get the best bang for our bucks and will advocate for this when considering county-wide purchases. Competitive bidding has been proven to save tax dollars and welcomes bids by local businesses. Our government should shop local!
